The plant is installed with quality High Pressure Reverse Flow Check Valves, Flash Back Arrestors, Complete Gauging, and Safety Valves that help in protecting both equipment and user. Furthermore, different auto controls, auto vent valves & non-return valves ensure 100% safe operation of the plant in all conditions.
Acetylene Gas Generator:
Our advance NKCS Acetylene Plant comes with numerous high-end features which are not normally found in other units. We are offering fully automated plant that requires operator's attention for only brief amount of time in every hour. Each and every operation is executed by pneumatically controlled valves which are assisted by extremely sensitive sensors as well as integrated with temperature control instruments. These in turn opens water inlet valve or residue drain valve, etc. There are 2 hydraulic pumps helping in opening and closing calcium carbide supply. It is then fed to the generator by using screw feed conveyors.
Screw feed mechanism & agitators function with the support of flame proof motors and fittings. Perfect synchronization of all the operations is achieved in order to ensure simple running and maximum efficiency. The plant is equipped with a alarm bell system that signals the operator visually/ audibly, in case there is any failure in power supply, instruments, water, air, etc. Flame retardant lights & electrical fittings, in accordance to the IS2148-68 (Group II) or BSS-229 can be used in Acetylene Plant building. Acetylene cylinders must be of IS: 7312: 1974 or ICC:8 specifications.
The Acetylene Plant can be configured to operate at a particular temperature, regardless temperature of the cooling water or size of carbide used. There is a sensitive sensor which operates through pneumatic control, and helps in adding water to the generator tank when temperature overshoots the set limit, therefore a given temperature is maintained. This further helps in ensuring full utilization of carbide which is an extremely expensive raw-material.
High Pressure Control:
In case of low capacity of compressor or fast generation, when all the generated gas cannot be drawn-in by the compressor & passed on filling manifold, the gas pressure gradually builds up in the generator. Carbide charging is automatically cut off, when gas pressure reaches to a predetermined level of about 0.5 kg/cm2, and further gas production is stopped. No expensive or bulky gas holder comes with our Acetylene generator, thereby reducing the investment cost. The produced gas is always kept at a positive pressure, further ensuring reduced pumping cost. Since, the generator constantly remains at a positive pressure (once the plant is purged with Nitrogen) air cannot enter the system. This feature makes our Acetylene plant reliable and absolutely safe.
Water Level Control:
In case excess water enters the generator so as to cool it down and reaches above the highest level mark, Water-level Control Instrument immediately discharges all the excessive water thus maintaining its level between low level and the acceptable high level mark.
No loss Carbide Charge :
There is no loss or wastage of gas during the charging of carbide, as one section is completely sealed-off from the acetylene generator using a high pressure & hydraulically-operated valve. Above mentioned controls are fully automatic, and thus need no attention from the user/ operator.
Acetylene gas when leaves the generator is very hot, and is carrying some water vapour & other impurities with it. Condenser cools it down, purifies the gas, and further condenses all the excess moisture. Cooling water flows from bottom to top on the shell side. The Condenser is designed and fabricated to suit diverse local conditions, provided adequate water flow is always maintained.
Low Pressure Drier:
It is a pressure vessel which is charged with solid anhydrous carbide, and absorbs all the moisture present in gas. If a particular amount of moisture is needed to ascertain that chemical purifier starts functioning effectively, a by-pass is offered to let the gas (whole/ partly) directly enter the purifier.
Water scrubber is placed in between the chemical purifier & Acetylene compressor, and helps in removal of impurities from the gas (if any).
It is a large vessel combined with 2 sectors with the use of wire mesh frame network. Each section of the Purifier is charged with purifying mass that easily absorbs gases such as phosgene, hydrogen sulphide, etc.
It is a 3-stage machine, immersed in water filled tank so that no pressurized gas can come in contact with the air. It is also useful in ensuring that all the components are continually cooled. This compressor is drawn by flame-retardant motor from outside the tank.
High Pressure Drier:
There are three columns in High Pressure Drier. The 1st one is filled with packing so as to prevent any void & for proper mixing, the 2nd and 3rd column are filled with anhydrous calcium chloride.
It comprises a battery of filling connections, used for connecting gas cylinders. In addition, Non-return valves are bring to use in order to adjoin different pipeline sections to the Filling Manifold.
