Cooling Towers, a specialized heat rejection device, is used for reducing water's temperature by bringing air & water into direct contact. During the process, small amount of water is evaporated into the moving air stream, and the temperature of remaining water cools down. Cooling Towers are known as a popular 'Evaporative Heat Rejection Device', providing significantly lower water temperatures when compared to air cooled/ dry heat rejection devices.

It finds application in providing cooled water for electric power generation, air conditioning and manufacturing. Small Cooling Tower is designed to handle water streams of few gallons of water/minute. It provides small amount of water, and is ideally suitable for residencies. On the other hand large Cooling Tower cools thousands gallon of water per minute.
